Arielle Stambler is a PhD candidate in English at UCLA. Her research interests include postcolonial literature, memory studies, human rights, and writing pedagogy. Her dissertation explores how twenty-first-century global Anglophone fiction critiques and remakes liberal human rights discourse. She is also pursuing a Certificate in Writing Pedagogy from UCLA with an emphasis in Writing in the Disciplines. Prior to beginning her graduate studies, she received a B.A. in English from Yale University and taught English literature and composition courses at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her writing has appeared in ARIEL: A Review of International English Literature and PubLab at the Los Angeles Review of Books.
