The Inclusive Classrooms STE, co-led by Steven Nelson and Maite Zubiaurre, was designed to learn effective ways to create and maintain an inclusive classroom setting. In a combination of readings, discussion, interaction with guest speakers, and hands-on work, the seminar covered various aspects of this subject with an eye towards developing creative strategies to contribute to an overall inclusive learning environment in which all students feel equally valued. The seminar also designed materials for training Humanities Graduate Student Instructors and both ladder and non-ladder faculty in creating inclusive classroom pedagogy.
