Shouhei Tanaka is a Ph.D. candidate in the English Department, currently working on a dissertation on contemporary American literature, culture, and energy. He is a graduate student coordinator for UCLA’s Laboratory for Environmental Narrative Strategies (LENS) and an affiliate of the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability (IoES).
