Kristie Valdez-Guillen is a Southeast Los Angeles native working toward her PhD in Musicology. Her research bridges her commitments to transformative political mobilization and the arts, by focusing on radical Chicanx sonic cultural productions. Grounded in Chicanx, Indigenous, and Black Studies, her work centers urban humanities from an intersectional, decolonial perspective.
