James McKeever
Professor, Sociology, Los Angeles Pierce College
James received his bachelor degree from California State University Los Angeles where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and his PhD from the University of Southern California. James is a former American Sociological Association and National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA) Fellow as part of the Minority Fellowship Program. His dissertation focused on African-American men’s mentorship in majority Latinx communities. His research interests lie in the intersection of race, gender, and class as well as issues that have to do with negative outcomes for minority youth. Currently he is a Full Professor of Sociology at Los Angeles Pierce College.
