Amber West
Dr. Amber West teaches academic, professional, and creative writing for UCLA Writing Programs and University Extension. Her areas of interest include poetry, public humanities, puppetry, abolition feminism, and hip-hop. She has published two books of poetry, Hen & God (The Word Works, 2017) and Daughter Eraser (Finishing Line Press, 2015), as well as scholarship in the Journal of Research on Women & Gender, Puppetry International, the Routledge Companion to Puppetry & Material Performance, among others. Her recent public humanities work includes Whitmania, the largest commemoration of Walt Whitman’s bicentennial west of the Mississippi. West is a proud member of UC-AFT and mother of two.
