Ernesto Arciniega
PhD Candidate, Hispanic Literatures, UCLA
Ernesto Arciniega is a PhD Candidate in Hispanic Literatures at UCLA. His research interests include Latin American, Mexican and Chicanx literatures and cultures. Ernesto is particularly interested in border studies and immigration law in the United States. As an advocate for social justice, immigrant rights and students’ basic needs, he served as inaugural Director of Diversity, Inclusion and Community Engagement for the UCLA Graduate Students Association (2018-2019), founder of the UCLA Hispanic Latinx GSA, and board member on the ASUCLA Board of Directors (2019-2020). He currently serves as Director of Outreach for the UC-wide Graduate and Professional Council (UCGPC).
