Franka Horvat

Franka Horvat is a PhD student at the Art History department at UCLA. Her research interests include the interconnection of social, artistic and economic aspects in medieval Byzantine landscapes, with a particular emphasis on the relationship of islands and mainland, as well as rural areas and urban centers, on the borderline between the East and the West. Franka is currently working on her PhD thesis, which focuses on the Elaphiti Archipelago (Croatia) in the Late Middle Ages. She has a master’s degree from the Central European University in Budapest.
