Jason Araujo
Graduate Student, Comparative Literature, UCLA
Jason Araújo is a graduate student in the Department of Comparative Literature at UCLA. His work values cross-cultural dialogues and seeks to examine interactions between centers and peripheries, particularly between France and Mexico in the nineteenth century. Aware that both the university as well as the classrooms within are changing in exciting and dynamic ways, he suspects the EPIC-Mellon seminars in teaching excellence will encourage participants to maintain rigorous academic traditions while exploring and establishing a pedagogical culture that strives to remain competitive and relevant to the academic and professional needs of a diversifying student body.
