Willeke Wendrich

Willeke Wendrich is Professor and Joan Silsbee Chair of African Cultural Archaeology in the Near Eastern Language & Cultures Department. Her interests include Archaeology, Ethno-archaeology, Egypt in Africa, Digital Humanities and Three-dimensional digital representation of data and arguments. She received her PhD in Egyptian Archaeology at Leiden University and her MA in the History of Religion (specialization in ancient Egyptian religion, archaeology, language and philosophy of science) from University of Amsterdam. She is Editorial Director of the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology Press and Editor-in-chief of the online UCLA Encyclopedia of Egyptology. She has published five books, including Archaeology and Apprenticeship and Egyptian Archaeology.
