Becoming an Anti-Racist Language Educator
Please join us on January 20, 2021 from 3:30-5:30pm for “Becoming an Anti-Racist Language Educator,” a workshop facilitated by Dr. Gyanam Mahajan, Asian Languages and Cultures, and EPIC Faculty Co-Director. Part of the Small Changes, Big Impact series, this workshop will engage language educators in reflecting on their own experiences and perspectives on BLM and related social justice issues, and provide a guide to inclusive and sensitive pedagogy to use in a foreign language classroom. The workshop will be divided into three main parts: Acknowledging BLM, Anti-Racism and Allyship, and Activism and Action.
The event will be held January 20, 2021 from 3:30-5:30pm. The RSVP form is closed. If you would still like to attend but did not get the chance to RSVP, please reach out to us at epic@humnet.ucla.edu.
