Small Changes, Big Impact Workshop Series: Assessment Discovery

In this interactive workshop, we briefly review current best practices for common assessment techniques in the Humanities, including: Using Rubrics, Peer Review, Marginal and Textual Feedback, Rubric Design, and Student Evaluation. We then focus on novel assessment techniques for intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, including self-directed feedback, real-time feedback, use of A/V tools for multimodal feedback, and gamification. Participants will refresh one of their assessment pieces and leave the workshop with a toolkit for modifying assessment practices. Because of the experiential nature of this workshop, seating is limited to 25 participants.
